Oystercam

ACME Oyster House, New Orleans

Saturday, Feb 26th, 5:39pm-6:48pm

This is the best place for oysters in the world. Their live Oystercam caught us in the act. After a 15 minute wait in line for the oyster bar we're getting set up with cocktail sauce and our first oysters.

The oyster shuckers at ACME really take care of you. WT and Hollywood were great. You get the freshest and largest oysters at the bar. Cynthia then feeds me a nice juicy one.

The oyster shells are starting to pile up. Not only are the oysters fantastic, but they have hot crawfish right out of the boil served in net bags. Nothing like cold oysters and hot crawfish!

Here are the 4 easy steps to eating crawfish:
1) Find the biggest crawfish. 2) Suck the head. 3) Pinch the tail. 4) Repeat.

WT serves Cynthia her gumbo and clears away the crawfish for round 2.

We both enjoyed watching the guys behind the bar shuck the oysters. They shuck about 4,000 a day during Mardi Gras season, so they're always fresh with that great saltiness to them.

Time for another pound of crawfish and more oysters!

Whew! I think we're done. Those sure a lot of shells in front of us.

WT counted 43 shells. Not nearly the 15 dozen needed to have our names added to the ACME Oyster Wall of Fame. The top guy ate 32 dozen! I'm sure we'll be back tomorrow.
