At the end of the day we passed by that Sausage Tree again. The dark maroon blooms were just opening. Cynthia poses with a coffee plant. Kona coffee is grown in the mountains, but to be called Kona coffee it can only be grown between 400 and 2,000 feet elevation. It's about $25 per pound! The competition is Bad Ass Coffee, which is grown at the higher and lower elevations, but it's not much cheaper at $23 per pound.
